When DKNY debuted their very first Ramadan Collection they not only blew our minds, but they made a pretty loud, splashing statement to the fashion industry by giving a direct nod to healthy wallets across the Muslim world.
Elegant Cloth’s S. Ali has a lot to say about that, you can read his thoughts here, but let’s focus our attention to the fashion itself.
In classic DKNY fashion, the Ramadan Collection features urban looks that are modern, feminine, and fuss-free. The brand describes the line as “cosmopolitan glam” and we see that as a fitting description. All of the pieces in the collection are 100% wearable and can easily be transitioned from iftar party to the street.
Here are our four favorite looks from DKNY Ramadan Collection and how to wear them:
Look 1: Black and white drawstring pant with a not-so-cropped top
We can see ourselves bumming around town in this outfit every day! Bring up the glam factor by rocking it with a great watch, some simple jewelry and a pinky-nude lip glaze.
Try: White snake chain bracelet (Aldo), Oversized rose gold watch (Michael Kors), Agate ring set (Swarovski), Olive leaf earrings (Tiffany), Kiss pop lip color stick, Heartbreaker (Marc Jacobs Beauty)
Look 2: Slate jumpsuit
Few things scream confidence as loudly as a woman rocking a well-fitting jumpsuit with a pair of killer heels. This slate-colored piece is something that can stay in your wardrobe for every season. Wear it in the summer with a pile of colorful bracelets on one arm and a statement ring decorating your other hand. Make your nails pop with a coat of coral-colored nail polish.
Try: Blue and coral beaded stack bracelet (Aldo), gold nautical inspired bangle (Aldo), feather detailed beaded stack bracelet (Aldo), mirrored star two-finger ring (Forever 21), Inglot O2M breathable nail enamel, shade 662
Look 3: Floor-length tangerine dress
We love the simple, elegance of this stunning tangerine abaya-inspired dress. Funk it up with a splash of purple on your nails, a chunky statement necklace, sheer red lipstick, and some simple gold rings.
Try: Statement bib necklace (Forever 21), Almost Lipstick, Black Honey (Clinique), gold ring set (Aldo), Inglot O2M breathable nail enamel, shade 642
Look 4: White and blue floral skirt
The graphic floral print, the colour and the cut make this skirt nearly perfect! The only “problem” is the leg-baring slit, so fix it by layering stripped tights in a matching colour underneath. Any of your favorite white blouses will work great as a topper, and we recommend carrying the floral theme to your accessories with a nice flower cocktail ring. Finish the look with this season’s trendy orange lip.
Try: Blue stripped leggings (Own the runway), flower cocktail ring (Forever 21), High Performance Lipstick, corn poppy (Art Deco)
